FOCUS ON COMMUNITY

Former MGP Site Removal Action
Our team completed a significant removal action at a 3.5-acre MPG site nestled in a vibrant mixed industrial and residential area in Alabama. This project involved the careful management of over 12,500 cubic yards of MGP-impacted material, a crucial step in ensuring a cleaner, healthier environment for all. In addition to the cleanup efforts, we constructed a community basketball court on the site. This facility is designed to serve as a valuable recreational resource for residents, promoting physical fitness and community engagement.

Camilla Wood Preserving NPL Site
ENTACT completed crucial work at the 40-acre Camilla Wood Preserving site in Georgia, home to a wood treating facility for over 40 years. This site was placed on the EPA’s Superfund National Priorities List. We installed a vertical barrier around the source area to address concerns, creating a specialized slurry wall and carefully managing excavation and backfilling to ensure effective and thorough remediation. Thanks to these efforts, the City of Camilla has transformed 25 acres of the site into fantastic new sports facilities. Residents can now enjoy two soccer fields, four baseball fields, and a community recreation center. This redevelopment marks a significant step forward in enhancing the area’s recreational offerings and ensuring an active environment for everyone to enjoy.

MAJOR LEAGUE IMPACT

ENTACT was engaged in a comprehensive project that involved the remediation and redevelopment of 186 acres, including the former lead smelter and adjacent railroad yard. Our team undertook extensive remediation efforts, which encompassed decontamination, asset recovery, and stack demolition, along with the consolidation and capping of contaminated materials. Throughout the project, we effectively managed and disposed of over 300,000 tons of impacted material. Because of our restoration work, this area has been transformed into a vibrant waterfront destination featuring a scenic boardwalk and the multi-purpose Idaho Central Arena, which serves as the home for the Idaho Steelheads. This redevelopment marks a significant milestone in enhancing the community’s recreational and entertainment offerings.

Downtown Dallas Brownfield Redevelopment Project
ENTACT significantly contributed to the redevelopment of the 68-acre site that now houses the American Airlines Center, alongside a condominium complex and various commercial enterprises. Our team was engaged to carry out extensive field remediation activities at this former power generation plant. Throughout the project, ENTACT managed field data, reporting, and site closure for 20 parcels within the Voluntary Cleanup Program, achieving certification of completion for all areas.

Key achievements included managing 550,000 cubic yards of material, demolishing a 4-story building, safely removing 34,000 square feet of asbestos, and relocating sewer and storm drain systems, effectively restoring the site for safe public use. Thanks to these efforts, the site is now a vibrant part of the community, featuring the American Airlines Center as a centerpiece, along with new residential and commercial opportunities.
