RIVER DREDGING PROJECT

Industry: Oil & Gas

Location: Northeast

Result: Sustainable Environment

Major River System Restored After Petroleum Spill

ENTACT dredged petroleum-impacted sediments from a major river system following a spill event. The project included the construction of temporary facilities, an access haul road connecting the staging area to the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) causeway and capping an upstream outfall. This comprehensive approach ensured the effective removal of contaminated sediments while restoring the river environment. Upon project completion, ENTACT had:

  • Dredged 1,300 cubic yards of impacted sediment
  • Dewatered and conditioned sediment with Portland cement
  • Transported and disposed of 2,500 tons of impacted material off-site
  • Backfilled the river bottom with 2,450 tons of stone
  • Removed temporary roads and the USACE causeway
  • Completed site restoration
