ENTACT completed installation of a HDPE Vertical Barrier Wall at this former phosphorus bulk storage and transloading facility in order to prevent the migration of LNAPL to the surface water of the adjacent navigable waterway. Scope of work included pre-trenching and demolition of subsurface obstructions; decommissioning of the existing free product (LNAPL) recovery trench; dewatering and solidification/removal of sediment buildup from the bottom of the trench; backfill and compaction of the trench; installation of a 8,000 square foot HDPE barrier wall up to 17 feet bgs using GSE’s GundWall interlocking panel system; transportation and off-site disposal of impacted materials; roadway restoration; and site restoration including seeding and mulching.
